Honoring Indonesia's Elders with Heartfelt Reverence
In Indonesian culture, our elders are our greatest treasure—the foundation of our families and community. Serena was built to honor this timeless virtue with world-class geriatric care.
Founded by Physicians & Families
Serena Living was established by a coalition of Indonesian geriatric physicians, nurses, and families who recognized the lack of dedicated, modern, barrier-free residential communities in Jakarta.
Rather than cold institutional nursing homes, we envisioned an open, light-filled sanctuary reminiscent of a peaceful Javanese boutique estate—where every resident feels respected as a cherished family member.
Our Core Philosophy: 'Ngajeni'
Rooted in the traditional Javanese ethos of ngajeni (profound mutual respect and veneration for elders), our staff approach each care moment not as clinical labor, but as a noble act of family devotion.
The Serena Pillars
1. Clinical Rigor & Safety
24/7 licensed healthcare professionals, structured medication protocols, and direct emergency response pathways with South Jakarta's leading tertiary hospitals.
2. High Caregiver Ratio (1:3)
We maintain one of the highest caregiver-to-resident ratios in Southeast Asia, ensuring no call bell goes unanswered and every meal is leisurely and social.
3. Radical Transparency with Families
We believe in an open-door policy. Families are welcome anytime, and our weekly clinical review notes keep children completely informed of health and mood trends.
